Winchester Village Elementary is taking on a new shape as construction there continues to expand the size of the school and make its classrooms more conducive for instruction.
Members of the school board along with other Perry Township administrators toured parts of the new construction on April 25th. They saw new classrooms, new office space and a new, more secure entryway starting to take shape. A lot of progress is going on around the new 4th and 5th grade wings. The brick on the outside makes it look like a real school now.
The metal wall framing in the office area is complete. They have already started masonry facing on the school. The fire protection piping in the office area was completed in late February and the complete interior drywall sheathing in the office area started in early March. Construction crews are also working on ceramic tile. The target date for completion of the fourth and fifth grade wings and front office area is May 2016.
