Pack Away Hunger Spirit Week\u00a0<\/span> Oct. 30-Nov. 3<\/span>\u00a0Each day will cost $ 1.00, and the money raised will be donated to Pack Away Hunger. This is our annual drive sponsored by the GV Student Council to raise funds for Pack Away Hunger. Students may dress according to a theme for $1.00 each day or you may pay $ 5.00 for the week.\u00a0<\/span>The spirit days are as follows:<\/p>\n

Monday: All ONE color day-Dress from head to toe in your favorite color!<\/p>\n

Tuesday: Pajama Day-Normal shoes should be worn. No slippers!<\/p>\n

Wednesday: Red Day for Red Ribbon, Just Say NO to Drugs Day -Wear red to show support for not doing drugs. You may wear blue jeans.<\/p>\n

Thursday: Mismatched Day -No matching allowed!<\/p>\n

Friday: Sports Day-Dress in clothes from your favorite college or professional team. You may wear jeans with your outfit.<\/p>\n

Pack Away Hunger is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to improving the lives of children and others who suffer from food insecurity (uncertain or limited access to adequate food) and malnutrition. 37 million people are food insecure, 11 million which are children. Lack of proper nutrition creates serious health and developmental consequences for children.<\/p>\n

The students will be collecting money, so that we may pack 3,000 to 4,000 Nutri-Plenty Meals. Each meal contains a blend of 21 vitamins and minerals. They also contain a healthy mixture of rice, soy, vegetables, and flavorings. The meal is easy for families to prepare, requiring only a pot of boiling water and a spoon. Each meal costs only 30\u00a2 to prepare, so donating $1.00 will pack three meals!<\/p>\n

The second week of our fundraiser, November 6-10, will be a Classroom Competition. The classroom in each grade level that collects the most money will be rewarded with a popcorn party! The classroom that collects the most money overall will receive a pizza party! As a school we hope to raise $3,000. Will you help us reach our goal?
