Perry Township Schools stands with every student, employee, or community member who is Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color. We condemn racism, harassment, and discrimination, and building an anti-racist community where everyone feels safe, respected, and included is a priority.
We are currently reviewing district policies and employee training to make sure we address these problems in meaningful ways. Once appropriate strategies have been identified, we will bring a thorough plan to our students, families, and staff.
Perry Township Schools is also proud to collaborate with other Marion County school districts to be a part of the solution, making our community a better, more inclusive place.

Lights on For Justice
On Friday, June 19, 2020, the lights at Cardinal Stadium, Falcon Stadium, and other football fields across Marion County will be turned on for 8 minutes 46 seconds. This gesture is a tribute to the late George Floyd. It is also intended to spotlight the need for social justice and an end to racism. The lights will be turned on at 10:14 p.m., which symbolizes Mr. Floyd’s birthday, October 14.
June 19 was chosen because of the date’s significance to the African American community. Juneteenth, also called Freedom Day, Jubilee Day, or Celebration Day, is an American holiday celebrated on June 19 annually. This date commemorates June 19, 1865 – the emancipation of the last remaining enslaved African Americans.
