school calendar

  1. All Perry Township Schools will follow the school board approved school calendar for the 2022-23 school year.
  2. All students K-12 will attend school in-person Monday through Friday.
  3. Virtual education will not be provided as an option to in-person learning except in emergency situations.

masks and facial coverings

  1. Student and staff members will not be required to wear masks or facial coverings unless required by the Marion County Department of Health. Students and staff may voluntarily wear masks or facial coverings if they do so choose.

physical distancing

  1. Classrooms and other areas of gathering will socially distance as much as is feasible. Three feet will be the standard distance.

student health and safety

  1. Families are charged with self-monitoring the health of their students and should not send their student to school if experiencing one of the following:
    a. A temperature in excess of 100.4 F
    b. Vomiting or diarrhea
    c. Undetermined/untreated rash
    d. Eye discharge and redness
    e. Untreated head lice – live bugs or nits bed bugs on their person or belongings
  2. Hand washing techniques will be reinforced with students and staff. Hand washing will be encouraged for every change of location within the building. Hand sanitizer will be available in each classroom and common areas for use when hand washing is not feasible.
  3. Staff and students who become sick while at school will be isolated in the nurse’s clinic until transportation home can be arranged. Immediately upon the departure of the sick staff member or student, the areas where the individual has been isolated or was present will be cleaned and disinfected.
  4. Bottle fillers have been installed in school buildings to limit the communal use of shared drinking fountains.
  5. Indoor air quality enhancements will be installed in all buildings.

cleaning and maintaing health facilities, including ventilation improvements

  1. Normal cleaning routines will be enhanced by the disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces (drinking fountains, sink handles, door handles, etc.).
  2. Sharing equipment will be limited when possible and cleaned between uses when used by more than one person or group.
  3. Classrooms and buildings will be checked to ensure proper air ventilation.
  4. Air filters will be changed quarterly throughout the school year.

transportation

  1. Student and staff members will not be required to wear masks or facial coverings unless required by the Marion County Department of Health. Students and staff may voluntarily wear masks or facial coverings if they so choose.
  2. Windows will be open to increase cross ventilation when weather permits.
  3. School buses will be cleaned and disinfected each day before morning routes and evening routes.
  4. Students will be spaced apartment as much as feasible.
