Elementary Reading and Writing Curriculum K-5

Perry Township Schools adopted Into Reading, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) for its Reading and Writing curriculum from Kindergarten through 5th grade.  HMH is a research and evidence-based literacy curriculum that contains and explicitly teaches the five pillars of reading as identified by the National Reading Panel. These pillars are phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. HMH Into Reading provides resources in these five areas as well as in writing, language, and knowledge building for both whole-group and small-group instruction.
