Congratulations to the Perry Meridian High Environmental Club for winning the “It’s My City” public service announcement contest.
To build awareness of littering, the challenge encouraged all K–12 students in Marion County to create 30- or 60-second videos that explain why residents shouldn’t litter.
Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, Inc. (KIB), Eli Lilly and Company, FOX59, and It’s My City sponsored the contest designed to help change the city’s attitude about littering and support civic engagement.
The top three winners were selected by public vote from ten entries.
The video titled “Littering is Bad” by the PHMS Environmental Club won first place. The lucky winners received $1,000 to support beautification at PMHS, 20 tickets to a Pacers game and 20 tickets to a Colts game. The PSA will be aired on FOX59, as well.
The third place video, “Together We Can Stop the Litter,” was also produced by PMHS Environmental Club. Winners of this video were also awarded $1,000.
