Southport Elementary presented a check to Chief Tom Vaughn of Southport Police to support the family of Lt. Aaron Allan. Lt. Allan was killed in the line of duty on July 27, 2017. Students and staff collected $661.45 by having a “Blue Out Day,” which allowed them to wear blue jeans and blue shirts, rather than the standard dress code, if they donated at least $1.
