Parents,

I wanted to reach out and let you know some of the procedures and policies that PMMS Athletics will put in place to keep our coaches and athletes safe this upcoming fall sports season. Please be aware that these policies and procedures are mandatory for our athletes and coaches to follow. We are following the Indiana DOE and the IHSAA recommendations, while also staying consistent with our high school. Please note that these procedures and start times remain tentative based on current health information provided by the state of Indiana, the ISDH and the IHSAA. This letter is lengthy, but extremely important. Please be sure to read each section of this document. Thank you for your time and for helping us keep our coaches and athletes safe!

ALL ATHLETES MUST BE REGISTERED FOR SPORTS USING FINAL FORMS ATHLETE REGISTRATION! Any athlete who attends practice without being fully eligible in final forms will not be eligible to participate.

All athletes must have a completed IHSAA physical on file dated after April 1, 2023

IHSAA PHYSICAL

The Perry Meridian High and Middle School Athletic Departments are making plans for a physical night for the 2023-2024 school year.

At Perry Meridian High School, July 18th 6pm-8pm for $20.00.

To speed up the entry into your appointment:

1. Complete Athlete registration, parents and students must create/update

2. Have health history/medical profile in hand. This can be printed from Final Forms (second form) or you can fill out a paper copy found here:

Pre-registration will open on Payk12 closer to the date

  • If an athlete is not feeling well, please do not send the athlete to a workout. If an athlete is diagnosed with COVID-19, please report that to your coach ASAP.
  • All students should bring his or her own LABELED water to workouts. There may not be access to outdoor water filling stations. Indoor water bottle filling stations will be accessible.
  • Any student who prefers to wear a mask while participating, provided it does not cause a health risk, will be allowed to do so.

I am listing fall sport start times below. Please contact the coaches listed for any questions you may have about an individual sport. It is very important that you complete the final forms registration and IHSAA physical requirements prior to the first day of participation.

Boys Cross Country: Grades 6-8


Girls Cross Country: Grades 6-8

Times/Location: Tuesday and Thursday mornings at PMMS Track: 7:00-8:00 am

Wednesday evenings at Glenns Valley Elementary School: 6:00-7:00 pm

Runners will need appropriate running shoes and a water bottle. *There will not be access to restrooms so runners should plan accordingly.

SUMMER WORKOUT CALENDAR


Football: Grades 7-8 only

We will always start practices on the field. Please drop your child off at the front gate. There will be a coach there by 7:50 a.m. Pick up at 10:30 a.m. same spot. We will end every practice by doing speed and strength development.

Things to bring: cleats (if possible), tennis shoes (athletes will not participate in crocs or sandals), a positive attitude, and a great work ethic.

**No RED and no helmets/shoulder pads**

Summer Calendar:

*We start on Monday, June 5th.

*Times: 8:30 – 10:30 am

*All communication will be send via Parent Square.

We are asking each athlete to have a practice jersey, navy blue pants, and navy blue socks

**When deciding on the size; there is a size chart at the bottom of the drop-down.

Callout & Training Meeting: Thursday, July 27th 3:15 – 5:15pm Meet in PMMS cafeteria right after school.
