This Thursday, third grade students, staff, and parents gathered to celebrate the 8 Rosa Parks Elementary School students who earned a PERFECT SCORE on IREAD-3 testing this year. In the district, there were over 1,000 students who took IREAD, and only 50 of those students earned a perfect score. We are so excited that EIGHT of those third graders are from Rosa Parks! Superintendent Mapes and Assistant Superintendent Carpenter were here for the awards ceremony and presented the students with a medal for their achievement. Students were also given a shirt from the third grade teachers that reads: Ask me about my IREAD score… IT’S PERFECT!
IREAD-3 is a timed, multiple-choice only assessment consisting of three separate test segments. The first segment measures foundational reading skills, including phonics and vocabulary. The remaining two segments assess students’ ability to silently read and comprehend nonfiction and literary texts.
