Rosa Parks Elementary School teacher, Amy Rollings, was named the Township Teacher of the Year at a surprise gathering on May 17. Superintendent Pat Mapes and several district administrators were there to congratulate her in front of the entire school.
Many colleagues nominated Mrs. Rollings for her numerous accolades. She has taught for 21 years, with the past 18 in Perry Township. Mrs. Rollings serves on the garden team, and the social committee and is one of the building’s high-ability representatives. She is dedicated to professional development and constantly shares quality tips and strategies with fellow teachers. Mrs. Rollings is also an active community member while serving in her church and organizing food drives.
Mrs. Rollings works to build meaningful relationships with her students in the classroom. She is always looking for ways to improve lessons and make learning more engaging. Mrs. Rollings invests in students and wants any child to know they are loved and supported.
