What’s available??

  • Evening Math Lab @ SHS – Monday and Thursday nights 5-7 pm. Enter through door #17. (Find the classroom door that is open in the main hallway or the math hallway).
  • iPass (academic support offered during school hours) – students can sign up for a teacher’s iPass for extra assistance during the school day.
  • Small-Group or Individual Tutoring by your classroom teacher (speak with your teachers personally for their availability)
  • EL Academic Support – our EL interpreters are available to assist students during the school day with their coursework (located in room 111 or via email:

Central Nine Career Center

The Central 9 Career Center (C9) is a vocational training facility offering high school juniors and seniors hands-on learning experiences in various career fields. Located in Greenwood, Indiana, C9 provides programs in areas such as automotive technology, culinary arts, health sciences, construction trades, information technology, and MORE. Students can gain industry certifications, college credits, and real-world skills to prepare for post-secondary education or entry into the workforce. Central 9 collaborates with local businesses and organizations to ensure students receive relevant, high-quality training. If interested, email your counselor for more information.

21st Century Scholars

The 21st Century Scholarship is a valuable opportunity for Indiana students to make college more affordable. This program covers up to 100% of tuition at public colleges in Indiana and a portion of tuition at private or independent institutions. To qualify, students must be Indiana residents, U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens, and apply while in 7th or 8th grade at an accredited Indiana school. Additionally, they must come from families that meet specific income eligibility guidelines. However, students in foster care are exempt from the income requirement, ensuring wider access to this life-changing program. Learn more on their website.

FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a crucial step for seniors planning to attend college. By completing the FAFSA, students can unlock access to financial aid opportunities, including grants, scholarships, and loans, helping make higher education more affordable. It’s important for all seniors to complete the FAFSA, as many colleges and universities use it to determine eligibility for financial aid packages. The sooner you submit it, the better, as some aid is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to complete your FAFSA as soon as possible to maximize your aid options. Graduation Pathway

Every student in Indiana is required to complete a Graduation Pathway in order to graduate. This program allows students to personalize their graduation requirements to align with their postsecondary goals of Enrollment, Employment, or Enlistment leading to service. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all academic path, students can choose the high school options that best suit their individual needs and future aspirations.
