Mr. Brian Kight enters his 22nd year as athletic director for the Southport Middle/Southport Academy campus. His head coaching experience spawned four decades from 1984-2012 and includes stints with 8th grade football, 8th grade baseball, 8th grade boys’ basketball, 8th grade girls’ basketball, 7th grade girls’ basketball, 6th grade girls’ basketball, boys’ track, and girls’ track. Those teams compiled an overall record of 193-134.
Mr. Kight is a current member of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrator’s Association as well as the Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrator’s Association. In addition, he served as the president of the Marion County Athletic Directors’ Association from 2004-2007.
