Car Rider Morning Procedures

  • Cars will enter our lot at the front of our building off Anniston.
  • They will follow the diagram below to form a car rider line.  Cars should pull forward to the white line (across from the flag pole).
  • At 8:55 staff will come outside to have the first 5-6 cars unload students. School starts promptly at 9:05.
  • Once students are on the sidewalk, cars may pull forward to exit the school. Please stay in car rider line, even if the car in front of you is slow dropping off their students! We want this process to be as safe as possible, and when cars pull around each other it creates a dangerous situation.
  • Staff will direct cars forward and unload the next group of students.

Car Rider Afternoon Procedures

  • Dismissal is at 3:55 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
  • Early dismissal is every Wednesday at 3:30.
  • All students must be picked up promptly at dismissal.
  • If there are changes in your child’s typical procedures, please call the office: 317-789-3301.  If there is an emergency situation, please call the office with changes before 3:00pm. Communication with the school will allow us to safely have your child in the right place at the end of the day.
  • The safety of our over 500 students is our number one priority! Good communication helps everyone involved get all of our students home safely.
  • Car Rider Line will look different in the afternoon!  In the hopes of not backing traffic up onto the street, we will be using a new car rider process in the afternoons only!
  • Cars will enter our lot at the front of our building off Anniston.
  • Once they reach the curve in our parking lot, they will break into 2 lines. There are painted lines on the pavement to show you how to do this.  Even though the painted lines end, cars should continue to pull forward, staying in 2 lines until they reach the white line (across from the flag pole).
  • We will load the first group of cars.  A staff member will be at the front of the line and once all students are in cars safely, they will direct cars to leave. Please stay in car rider line, even if your car has loaded with students!  We want this process to be as safe as possible, and when cars pull around each other it creates a dangerous situation.
  • A staff member will also direct the next group of cars to pull forward.
  • Please refer to the diagram below.
