Severe Weather Information
Our school district will be using the ParentSquare system to notify all parents of any inclement weather delays, eLearning Days and school closings.
The following information will be important to you in determining your student’s school day status in weather emergency situations. In the past there have been instances when school has been closed only to find that a short delay in the start could have changed circumstances dramatically. In some circumstances, the school starting time will be delayed two (2) hours. This will give school officials additional time to evaluate weather and road conditions. The media would be notified of a two-hour delay by 5:15 a.m. on the morning of the delay. The two-hour delay announcement could result in the following:
- A second announcement by 7:30 a.m. announcing an eLearning day
- or a total closing of schools.
During inclement weather, every effort will be made to keep school in session. As always, our first concern is for the safety of students and employees. The District hopes this option will provide more safety for students and a better driving environment for our bus drivers.
NOTE: In the event of inclement weather, the Administration will make every possible attempt to make that decision the evening before. If the decision is made in the morning, the ParentSquare system will begin making calls to homes at 5:15 A.M.
