Construction on the state-of-the-art facility located on the University of Indianapolis campus will begin in summer 2026. One hundred percent of the building costs will be generously covered by Lilly Endowment Inc. In June, Perry Township Schools announced that it had received a $40 million grant from Lilly Endowment. Most of that funding will support the development of the innovation center, with remaining funds designated to enhance student achievement across the district. The proposed 52,150-square-foot facility will provide students, educators, and industry partners with a dynamic, future-ready environment to design, innovate, and collaborate. It will feature four state-of-the-art studios equipped for design, prototyping, and business development, as well as four fully outfitted classrooms. Additional spaces will include makerspaces, co-working offices, instructional studios, and a pitch area designed to mirror professional work environments.

The center will serve as a capstone facility where students can apply academic and employability skills through internships, mentorships, and business incubation, while expanding the district’s Work-Based Learning (WBL) program.

A temporary facility on the University of Indianapolis campus will open at the start of the 2026–2027 school year in July 2026.
