WCYE Lion TV is Clinton Young’s very own student-run television studio. Our student news crew meets during school twice a week to create our daily newscast that airs each morning.
Each grade level has its own dedicated four weeks in Art Club, allowing students of all ages to explore their creative talents!
Lyrical Lions is a vocal performance group for 4th and 5th-grade students. The Lyrical Lions meet after school on scheduled practice days to prepare and rehearse for future performances in school-wide assemblies and holiday shows.
Spell Bowl is a Statewide Spelling competition sponsored by the Indiana Association of School Principals. Clinton Young’s 4th and 5th grade students have the opportunity each year to try out for the team. Team members are chosen based on test results, attitude, behavior, and recommendations from teachers and staff. The team meets to practice word lists and build their skill level to help them be successful at their scheduled competitions in November.
This club is for 5th grade students to learn about how to create outdoor areas for learning and growing plants and vegetables to help the environment and to be able to taste new foods. The Gardening Lions sponsor our yearly Planting Day where every student in the school gets to plant a flower or vegetable seed and watch it grow.

The Lion Bots is Clinton Young’s competitive robotics team for 4th and 5th grade students. Students work together to build and program robots to complete tasks in a game that changes each year. Our team competes in events across the state, showcasing their problem-solving, teamwork, and programming skills. Students must try out to join the team.
In partnership with Nice 13 Sports, Kids Building Bikes is an exclusive opportunity for six students to learn all about bicycles, including how to build and maintain them. At the end of the program, each student gets to take home the bike they built—a rewarding experience of learning and accomplishment!
The Recycling Club is open to all 1st-5th grade students passionate about helping the environment. Members learn the importance of recycling and take an active role in collecting paper, cans, and bottles from classrooms each week. Together, we’re making Clinton Young a greener place!
Students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade compete in teams of two, drafting a fantasy team of NBA and WNBA players and solving math problems using real-life player statistics to score points.
Gameplay builds fluency with fundamental math skills, and students develop key social-emotional skills as they share responsibilities and practice good sportsmanship in a basketball game format.
Learn Fresh works with NBA and WNBA team partners to host a Regional Tournament for chosen students participating in their region!
Board Game club is open to 1st and 2nd graders with a love for playing and learning about different games. It helps students work on good sportsmanship and even allows students to practice reading and math skills. We meet once a week and students rotate through 2-3 games each meeting.
