Southport High School FCCLA members attended the 2023 Indiana FCCLA State Leadership Conference in Muncie, Indiana March 5-7, 2023 and came back as big winners of multiple awards.

  • Gold Honor Chapter Award: This award is given to those chapters that go above and beyond in their chapters activities. This award was only given to 10 chapters in the State of Indiana this year, and is the oldest and highest award that is given in Indiana FCCLA.
  • 30×30 Membership Award: For affiliating 30 paid members in the first 30 days of school.
  • Game On Award: Southport High School FCCLA was one of 38 Indiana chapters who affiliated by November 1, 2022
  • Unlimited Membership Award: Southport High School FCCLA was recognized for participating in the FCCLA Unlimited Membership Program for high school chapters by affiliating an unlimited number of students in Family and Consumer Sciences programs this school year

Southport High School FCCLA Members earned the following project awards:

Genevi Cin received a Gold medal for her FCCLA In Action: Student Body Project focusing on the No Kid Hungry Partnership and School Breakfast & School Lunch Program from earlier in the school year

Shaiden Jones received a Gold medal for her Career Exploration Project focusing on a career as a Special Education Teacher

Brooke Ladd & Cierra Porter received a Gold medal for their Focus on the Basics Project focusing on & exploring the basic information on what Indiana and National FCCLA are.

Ashley Martinez & Kaleigh VanValkenburg received a Gold medal for their Early Childhood Learning Pac Project focusing on creating 6 various lessons to teach children. They had the opportunity to present their lessons to students at Homecroft Kindergarten Academy

Manprit Kaur, Esther Li & Mang Za Dim received a Gold medal for their Food Marketing project in which they developed a marketing plan and social media posts on an innovating food product

Maggie Rojas Moranchel, Dulce Salazar Moranchel & Serenity Canavan received a Silver medal for their Trend Board- Interior Design Project. These students had to create 2 room designs based on the Pantone color of the year

Southport FCCLA Adviser Ms. Sara Neville was nominated for and received the New/Newer FCCLA Adviser of the Year award recognizes a newer adviser in their first 7 years of advising who demonstrates a passion for FCCLA and initiative to make things happen.
