We are extremely excited for the start of the 2025-26 school year. We hope everyone had a wonderful summer, and we look forward to welcoming students back in the building on Wednesday, July 30th.

In the next few days, Skyward will be available to students and when it is, we encourage students to check their class schedule and bus information.  There could be last minute changes so it’s important that students and families review the information in Skyward the night before school starts. On the first day of school, students will report to their iPass class to pick-up paper copies of their schedule, their school IDs, and other important information. In order to be ready on day one, students really only need to know their iPass class information.

Please note that school will be released 20 minutes early the first week of school to allow buses enough time to run routes without delaying dismissal at our Tier 2 and 3 schools. This means students will be released at 1:10pm on Wednesday and 1:35pm on Thursday and Friday next week.

At this time, only incoming 9th grade students are assigned lockers for the 25-26 school year. On Wednesday, July 23rd, 10th – 12th grade students will receive a Google Form from Mr. Horvath to complete if they would like to have a school locker assigned. Students should complete the form this week in order to have a locker assigned for the first day of school.

To help with back to school information, the administration put together an Orientation video for ALL students and parents with important start of school details. Please make sure all family members watch the video before school starts. Some of the information included in the video is:

  • School Information (mission, core values, school goal, Title I)
  • 1st day of school information and bell schedule
  • How to read your schedule in Skyward
  • School attendance details: There are legislative changes that now extend to the high school so communicating absences to school and promoting positive attendance will be very important. Please see the attached letters explaining the law updates:
  • Bus rider information
  • Car rider and rider drop-off and pick-up details
  • School safety details
  • High School dress code
  • Cell phone/Electronic device policy
  • Central Nine information for enrolled students
  • How to get involved with clubs, activities, and athletics

Please note that the video is about 40 minutes long so grab the popcorn and enjoy! If you have any questions after watching the video, please reach out to the SHS main office at 317-789-4800 and we will be happy to assist you.
