Homecoming Week Information

Hello Cardinals! We have lots of exciting information regarding our upcoming Homecoming football game and festivities. Please read carefully!

🏈 Thursday 9/18/2025 - Powder Puff Football Game

The Powder Puff football games will take place on Thursday, September 18 starting at 6:00 PM in Cardinal Stadium. There will be 3, 20 minute games. Freshmen vs. Seniors, Juniors vs. Sophomores and then the winner of game 1 vs the winner of game 2 will play each other. There is no cost for entry for Powder Puff.  If you need more information please contact Mr. Mitchell (bmitchell@perryschools.org)

🎉🏈Friday 9/19/2025 - CARDFEST and Homecoming Football Game

We’re excited to share a big update about this year’s Homecoming! SHS will be transitioning from our traditional Homecoming Parade to a brand-new event—Homecoming Community Fest (aka CARDFEST)—and we’d love for you to be part of it. CARDFEST is a tailgate with music, food, games, candy, bounce houses and more – an opportunity to bring the community to us for a “reverse parade” format right here at SHS.

CARDFEST is a tailgate with music, food, games, candy, bounce houses and more – an opportunity to bring the community to us for a “reverse parade” format right here at SHS.

CARDFEST will take place Friday, September 19, from 4:30–6:30 PM on the SHS front lawn and east parking lot. Groups, organizations, and alumni will set up tables/tents, hand out candy, play games, and connect with our Southport community. We’re thrilled about this new way to bring Cardinals of all generations together, and we hope you’ll join us in making our first CARDFEST a tradition to remember.

CARDFEST is free to attend. There will be food vendors accepting cash and card payments.

Homecoming Football Game – It costs $7 per person to attend the Homecoming football game vs. Cathedral HS. Tickets can be purchased here. 

🕺💃Saturday 9/20/2025 - Homecoming Dance

Our Homecoming Dance will be on Saturday 9/20/205 from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM in Cardinal Stadium.

Please fill out this information form if you are interested in attending the Homecoming Dance on Saturday, September 20th in Cardinal Stadium.  Students must apply using their Perry Township email address. THE DEADLINE TO COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION IS FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12.

Starting with this new school year, every student has a clean slate regarding discipline, grades, and attendance in regards to qualifying for a dance. If a student is interested in attending a dance, the student needs to apply.

Students need to meet certain criteria to attend a dance at SHS. The criteria are as follows:

• students need to be passing all classes with a D- or above to attend the dance;
• students can not have any infractions at school that led to an out of school suspension. If a student receives an out of school suspension after the date of July 30th, 2025, the student can not attend a dance that semester;
• students must be in good standing regarding their attendance. We will take this on a case-by-case basis, and
• all tickets must be purchased in advance at the SHS bookstore, located by the main office. The cost will be $10 per ticket. Students must show their ID before they will be able to purchase a ticket. Tickets will NOT be purchased at the door of the dance.
• Tickets will go on sale in the bookstore beginning Monday, September 8th and will be sold through Friday, September 19th.

The only dance we allow outside guests to attend is Junior/Senior Prom. There are NO guests from outside schools allowed at the SHS Homecoming. All students must have their ID’s to enter the dance.

After you apply, if you qualify to attend the dance, you will receive an email stating you qualify.  If any incident or grade lowering event happens between the time you qualify and the dance, we will send you an email revoking your dance form, and your ticket will be refunded.

It is expected that you follow all Southport High School and Perry Township expectations at this event. Failure to do so will result in appropriate consequences including not being eligible to attend future events.

Cardinal Stadium Guidelines

• There will be drinks and snacks for purchase. No food or drinks will be allowed on the football field.
• Shoes must have flat soles. No heels or shoes that could damage the turf or track.
