PERRY ACADEMY
DRESS CODE EXPECTATIONS
Tops:
- Must be a solid color free of stripes, patterns, designs, or artwork (includes long sleeve shirts worn under a polo shirt).
- Acceptable tops include:
- Long or short-sleeved polo shirts with collars
- Dress shirts with collars
- Turtlenecks with sleeves
- Perry Meridian spirit t-shirts or sweatshirts
- Sweaters or sweatshirts with no hoods, decorative writing, or artwork
- A collared shirt does not need to be worn under sweaters, sweatshirts, or spirit wear t-shirts and sweatshirts.
- Acceptable tops include:
- Except when wearing an appropriate sweater, sweatshirt, or turtleneck, the uniform shirt must always be on the outside.
- Any top that has a full zipper is considered a jacket and cannot be worn during the school day.
Bottoms:

- All pants, including shorts:
- Must be a solid color free of stripes, patterns, designs, or artwork
- Must be khaki, black, grey, or navy blue only – No Denim
- Pants typically have pockets and/or a zipper
- All pants, including shorts:
- Sweatpants, jeans (denim), and athletic type pants (anything intended for exercise or relaxation) are allowed only on relaxed dress code days.
- Shorts, dresses, skirts, and jumpers must be at mid-thigh or below.
- Shorts may be worn by all students before fall break and after spring break. During the time between the two breaks, all pants must be shoe length.
- Pants/shorts cannot have excessive or inappropriately placed holes, rips, or tears.
Shoes:
- Acceptable footwear includes any hard-sole shoe with a closed toe. Slides, flip-flops, slippers, or any type of shoes that school administration feels would present a safety hazard will not be permitted.
Other Items:
- Jackets, hooded sweatshirts, hats, head coverings (unless for religious reasons), and all other outerwear must be stored in a students’ locker during the school day.
- While in the school building, students must wear their lanyard, with student ID, around their neck.
- Bags and purses must be stored in a students’ locker during the school day.
- Pajama pants are not to be worn on any school day without the permission of school administration.
