Event Behavior Expectations
SMS Student Expectations For Athletic Events
Dear Students and Guardians,
Welcome to another exciting year of SMS Athletics! In an effort to promote a fun and safe environment for students, players, coaches, parents, officials and event staff, we have come up with some specific guidelines that we need to strictly adhere to as we begin to have athletic events hosted at Southport Middle School. We appreciate your attention to this, and look forward to a great time seeing our students cheer on their peers this coming year!

Ticket Prices:
Students are required to pay the admission fee of $6 to get into our games. We will have special events that will cut this fee in half. Please listen toannouncements, and watch out on social media for these special nights.
Student Spectator Responsibilities During the Event:
- Cheer for our team!
- Be respectful to adults, peers, and anyone you come into contact with.
- Sit in the designated student section.
- Visit the concession stand at halftime and in between games. If you need to use the restroom or visit the concession stand at any other time, you must check in with the administrator that is with the student section that evening.
- There is to be no “hanging out” anywhere else besides the student section.
If you go to the restroom and/or concession stand, you must take care of those items and move directly back to the student section.
Rides Before/After Athletic Events:
- No events will start before 5:30pm. Students attending the event should not show up any earlier than 5:10pm as spectators.
- Events will conclude, generally, at 7:30pm. Rides home must be here and ready to go by 7:45pm. If this is an issue, the student will not be allowed to attend athletic events as a spectator any longer.
