What We Do
Our School Counselors provide comprehensive developmental services in three areas: Academic, Career, and Social/Emotional. Examples of services are listed below. Our Social Worker provides services related to students’ well-being in preparation for school, such as clothing, food, and related needs as well as attendance monitoring. All are available to meet with parents during the school day by appointment. (See the “Contact Us” page for more information.)
ACADEMIC SERVICES
- Student counseling regarding class performance
- Arranging Parent/Teacher conferences
- Course level placement
- Coordination of the transition to middle school and high school programs
- Enrollment of students in the 21st Century Scholars program
CAREER SERVICES
- Leading students through the Naviance curriculum
- Classroom career lessons
- Individual career conversations with students
SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL SERVICES
- Individual, short-term counseling sessions
- Resource suggestions for long-term counseling needs
- Coordination of services received outside of school
- Group counseling for specific needs
