What a fantastic first week of school! Thank you for helping us kick off the 2026-2027 school year with such positive energy. It has been wonderful to see our students settling into their routines, making new connections, and already demonstrating Cardinal Pride throughout the building. We are grateful for your partnership and support as we begin another great year together!

We’d love to continue that partnership by inviting you to Southport High School’s Back-to-School Night this Thursday, August 6th, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. The evening will be held in an open house format, so you’re welcome to arrive anytime between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. that works best for your family’s schedule.

Parents should park on the west side of the building (the academic/bus lot side) and enter through Door 1 or Door 18A.

Rather than traveling from classroom to classroom, our teachers will be grouped by department in the SHS Cafeteria and Main Hallway, making it easy for you to meet your student’s teachers, introduce yourself, and gather important information for the year ahead.

We’ll also have representatives from several school and community organizations, including Invest Ed, the SHS Adult Athletic Booster Club, PTSG, and others that support our students and families.

To make the most of your visit, please have access to your student’s schedule so you know which teachers you’d like to meet. When you arrive, we’ll provide a staff directory and building map to help guide you throughout the evening. We encourage students to attend with you, but they are not required to be present.

We look forward to welcoming our Southport families into the building and sharing the exciting start we’ve had to the school year. Thank you for being an important part of our Cardinal community, and we can’t wait to see you on Thursday!
