SIGN-ON BONUS (TRANSPORTATION & CHILD NUTRITION)
The sign-on bonus is for candidates who are hired after January 1, 2024, as bus drivers and monitors or into our child nutrition department (hourly positions, excluding cafe site and staffing supervisors.)
- The sign-on bonus is for new employees only.
- Prior Perry Township Schools employees must have a 90-calendar-day break in service to be eligible for the sign-on bonus.
- The new employee must remain employed in the position for 6 months for full payment.
- The bonus will be paid through payroll as part of your regular pay schedule.
- Candidates must be hired and working in a Part-Time (20-29 hours per week) or a Full-Time (30 or more hours per week) position. A sub position is not eligible for the sign-on bonus program.
The sign-on bonus will be paid to an employee who is hired on or after January 1, 2024. The employee must work in the position for six months of continued employment for full payment. If an employee is on an approved leave of absence at any time during the first six months, this will extend the required period they must work before the employee is eligible for the bonus. If an employee is in “lost pay status” and have used all available accrued time given, they will not be eligible for the bonus. No retroactive bonus will be paid for an employee hired before this date.
Form Steps
- Human Resources will send a sign on bonus form to the new hire via Frontline to acknowledge the terms of the sign-on bonus.
- If conditions are not met, a bonus will not be paid.
- Human Resources will initiate an initial and final bonus program form via frontline to verify eligibility for bonus payouts.
The Human Resources and Payroll departments will track the two-week and six-month dates for eligibility. The employee’s supervisor must verify that this employee is in good standing with the district. The bonus will be paid out on a subsequent pay period following the two-week and six-month actively employed dates. The employee’s supervisor must verify that this employee is in good standing with the district at the time of approval for both payout amounts.
New hires as of January 1, 2024 will be eligible to receive a $500 sign on bonus once they have met the required conditions of the program. The bonus will be paid in two installments.
- The first installment of $250 will be paid following two weeks of successful employment.
- The second installment of $250 will be paid following six months of successful employment.
- Payments will be made within 45 days of the confirmed required working periods.
- If the employee decides to leave the district they will be ineligible for bonus payouts.
- Employment must be continuous.
- Payout amounts listed are gross pay amounts before taxes.
The Human Resources department and management are committed to treating all applications fairly and reserve the right to hire only candidates who match the profile and competencies required.
