Perry Township Schools is proposing a critical maintenance project for Perry Meridian High School (PMHS) and Southport High School (SHS). These upgrades are necessary to ensure the safety, comfort and continued success of our students and staff.

The infrastructure of both schools has become increasingly outdated and presents significant safety concerns. Issues like deteriorating masonry, outdated fire alarm systems and aging roofs have made it clear that urgent action is required. Additionally, the rapid growth of our student population has strained the availability of classrooms. Currently, many teachers are forced to share classrooms with other educators, which impacts the overall learning environment.

This proposal is not about creating state-of-the-art facilities but about making essential improvements that will provide students and staff with an environment where learning can thrive. The project proposals are focused on addressing these urgent safety and space needs so we can continue to foster an educational setting that is both safe and conducive to student success.
