Acadience Reading is a universal screening and progress monitoring assessment that measures the acquisition of early literacy skills from kindergarten through 2nd grade. The assessment is composed of six brief measures that function as indicators of the essential skills that every child must master to become a proficient reader. These measures are used to regularly monitor the development of early literacy skills in order to provide timely instructional support and prevent the occurrence of later reading difficulties. DIBELS is a series of short, one-minute fluency assessments used in schools to monitor foundational reading skills (like phonics, phonemic awareness, and oral reading fluency) in kindergarten through fifth grade.  Perry Township Schools also uses this as a dyslexia screener. The i-Ready Inform (Math) is an adaptive assessment that adjusts its questions to suit your student’s needs. Each item a student sees is individualized based on their answer to the previous question. For example, a series of correct answers will result in slightly harder questions, while a series of incorrect answers will yield slightly easier questions. The purpose of this is not to give your student a score or grade, but instead to determine how best to support your student’s learning. [Grades: K-2 | Fall, Winter, & Spring]

The IREAD-3 is a state-required assessment aligned with the Indiana Academic Standards, developed to meet the state law requirement (HEA 1367 and SEA 1) that students be able to read by the end of 3rd grade. This test measures foundational reading skills, focusing on the ability to read words and understand the basic meaning of what is read.  Students must take the test beginning in grade 2 and will continue to take it each year until they pass or until they start 7th grade. The ILEARN Checkpoints are taken three times throughout the year. These are designed to provide timely insights into student progress in English/Language Arts (ELA) and Math before students take the summative ILEARN assessment at the end of the school year.  [Grades: 3-8 | Fall, Winter, & Spring]

The ILEARN Summative is the state assessment that measures student achievement and growth in English/Language Arts (Grades 3-8), Math (Grades 3-8), Science (Grades 4, 6, and Biology), and Social Studies (Grade 5) according to Indiana Academic Standards. ILEARN is the summative accountability assessment for Indiana students. [Grades: 3-8 & Biology Courses | Spring] 

 I AM is the summative accountability assessment for students with significant cognitive needs that measures student achievement and growth in English/Language Arts (Grades 3-8 and 10), Math (Grades 3-8 and 10), Science (Grades 4, 6, and Biology), and Social Studies (Grade 5) according to Indiana’s Content Connectors aligned to the Indiana Academic Standards. [Grades: 3-8 & 10 for students with significant cognitive needs) | Spring]

A state assessment that measures a Multilingual/English Language Learner student’s current level of English proficiency by assessing the four language domains of Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing.  This test is used for accountability purposes & to show growth of students that have English as their non-native language. [Grades: K-12 | Winter]

A standardized, digital test taken by 9th to 11th graders. It measures reading, writing, and math skills while acting as a baseline or “dress rehearsal” for the SAT. For 11th graders, it also serves as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) to compete for college scholarships. [Grades: 9-11 | Fall] 

A college entrance exam used by colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. The SAT measures a high school student’s readiness for college based on their performance in math, evidence-based reading, and writing. The SAT is the high school accountability assessment for students enrolled in grade 11. [Grades: 11 | Spring] 

It is a standardized aptitude test used to evaluate a student’s reasoning and problem-solving skills rather than their direct academic knowledge. The test is primarily used as a key component in the screening process to identify students who qualify for High Ability programs [Grades: 2 & 5 | Fall] [Grade: K | Winter]
